The Ultimate Guide to Energetic Hygiene

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the profound influence of energy on our well-being. ✨

 

Just as we prioritize physical hygiene to maintain our health, it's equally important to cultivate energetic hygiene---the practice of nurturing and maintaining balance in our energetic bodies. 💜

 

We are spiritual energetic beings having a human experience. 👫

 

Our energetic state deeply affects our mental, emotional and physical health. When this energy is balanced and harmonious, we experience health, vitality and a sense of well-being. 🌱

 

However, disruptions or imbalances in our energetic system can lead to discomfort, dis-ease & emotional distress. 😩

 

I am an empath but didn’t figure this out until my late 30’s. 

 

I went for decades soaking up other people’s emotions like it was my full-time job which made me exhausted, irritable and anxious at the end of the day. 😴

 

It was as if what happened to others, happened to me too.

 

I felt the heaviness of it all but had no idea what was actually going on.... AND, I had no clue about this thing called energetic hygiene. 🤷‍♀️

 

I was taught to shower, brush my teeth, comb my hair, get enough sleep, exercise, etc. but no one ever told me about energetic health. 💫

 

You are in luck because I have the knowledge to share with you so you can start to create the energetic life you desire. 💚

 

 

Let's zoom in on the three aspects of maintaining energetic well-being:
 
✔️ Energetic Protection
 
✔️ Energetic Release
 
✔️ Energetic Restoration




PROTECTION

Creating energetic boundaries serves as a shield against external influences.

 

By establishing these boundaries, you can safeguard yourself from absorbing the emotions of others and feeling overly vulnerable to your surroundings.

 

My favorite strategy to protect my energy:

  • Envision an energetic barrier surrounding you when you are in a situation that you know is an energy zapper. i.e. co-workers, friends, sporting events for your kids, etc. I like to imagine myself in either a glass bubble or a sphere of bright sparkly GOLDEN light. I visualize it surrounding my entire body and I say my INTENTION either out loud or in my head that it will keep out all negative energies.

 

RELEASE

Energy is like glitter....it has a tendency to stick to everything! 

 

Positive or negative energies can be transferred from one person to another or from one place to another, much like how glitter can be transferred from one surface to another.

 

By going to the grocery store, a concert, a restaurant, etc. you are absorbing various energies. 

 

Therefore, we need ways to “rinse” off the energy we pick up that doesn’t really belong to us.



My go-to strategies for releasing the energy:


  • I close my eyes & imagine a gigantic golden magnet 🧲 above my head. I set the INTENTION that it will remove all negative energies from head to toe. I VISUALIZE specs of energy ✨ being pulled from my body and being sucked up by the magnet. I see it accumulating and know that it’s working. I do this for about 30-45 seconds.

 

  • Burn sage or palo santo and set the INTENTION that it’s dissolving the negative energies. Always open a window so the energy has a place to escape out of your home.🏡

 

  • Take a 20 minute hot bath with epsom salts. I use anywhere from 1-2 cups of salt. It keeps you grounded and clears toxic energy. Make sure to rinse off with clean water after you drain the bathtub.🛁

 

RESTORATION

Last but not least, restoration is absolutely essential. We need to nurture our energy field on a regular basis.

 

When our energy field is restored, we feel rejuvenated, creative, joyful, connected & playful. 😀


Energy that accumulates over time can drag us down causing fatigue, anxiety and sadness so we need to be mindful to prioritize restoration. 


Energetic restoration practices draw positive energy back into our bodies and build up an “energy bank” to be used as necessary to keep us from feeling depleted.

 


Here are my top energetic restoration practices:


  • Meditate 🧘‍♀️ for 10 minutes each morning. I use the free app called Insight Timer.

 

  • Get a great night of sleep…ideally 8 hours. I have also been taking little 15 minute naps during the day which has been very restorative. 💤

 

  • I ground myself in the grass  in our backyard every day. Go barefoot and feel the grass between your toes. Close your eyes and let the sun ☀️ beam down on your face. Feel the connection with the sun’s warmth and the earth’s cool surface. 🌏
